Vama Veche, the place for partying all night
Vama Veche is a village in ConstanĹŁa County, Romania, on the Black Sea coast. Is a place for young people who just want to have fun without spending a lot of money. Vama Veche is known for the folk concerts, camping on the beach and for hipsters.
For me, is a place where I feel free, not having to worry about how I’m dressed or how my hair is looking.
Vama Veche is the place for partying all night, drinking cheap beer and dancing barefoot on the beach.
How can you arrive
There are flights to Bucharest – Henri Coanda airport and from there is 3 hours drive. You can take a bus/train or just rent a car.
Accommodations
There are a lot of options depending on your budget. First, you can camp on the beach or if you don’t like the noise you can go and camp in the village, in a more quiet place. 2nd, there are hostels with 10 euros per night or villas, B&B with 30 euros and finally you can stay at hotels with 60 euros. Personally, I don’t recommend this option because is expensive and you don’t get much for this price.
Tip: The prices are higher starting with mid of June until the beginning of September. I recommend going in June.
Top places to eat with good food
First, you have to try the pancakes from Vama Veche. I definitely recommend La Papa bun, their pancakes are just like my mom’s and is just 1 euro each. You can try with strawberries jam or with chocolate. If you like salty, go for the one with cheese. Omg, just thinking, I wanna go back. I don’t have photos because I was busy eating them. 🙂
Bolo Steak house – we tried their breakfast menu and the food was great! They have great salads with almonds, rucola and fennel. Apart of salads, they have Benedict eggs with salmon, the traditional omelet and fried eggs with bacon and cheese. The waiter was very nice and fast! I definitely will go on the next days.
Cherhana – is one of the oldest places from Vama Veche! They have fresh fish caught by the fisherman’s. The food is delicious especially the grilled fish and they have great local wines. Best of all, the view is amazing, right on the beach. Great to see the sunset.
Papa La Soni – another great place with fresh fish and mussels. Plus, in the evening, they have live folk music and the atmosphere is amazing.
La Frontiera – they have a diverse menu (omelets, fried eggs, salads and pizza) but the service is awful. It took 15 min to bring us the lemonade and still waiting for 2 omelets and a salad. The omelet was too oily for me but overall the food was good. If you don’t mind to wait 30 minutes for your order, go for it!
Price: around 20 euro for two persons for each meal.
There are a lot of places to eat, depending on what are you looking for and the price. But, if you really want to live like a Vama Veche local, then try the street food and eat a burger or a delicious kebab. Best part, only 20 euros per day.
Vama Veche, ideal for parties
I like that everything is close, the shops, restaurants, pubs. There is a main street full of restaurants, bars, pubs and beach clubs. The best thing of all, the entrance is free 🙂 for clubs.
We went to Amphora beach club, nice place with good music. Then, we tried a folk club where it was live music. It was great, we danced and the people were very happy and nice. After an hour of folk, we head out to Expirat club for a great techno music and a vibrant atmosphere.
At 2 pm we went for a romantic walk on the beach but guess what? There was a party on the beach. Is amazing the feeling when you don’t have to pay for anything and just enjoy the music and dance all night long.
In conclusion, Vama Veche is the place for partying all night and having a lot of fun. Also, a good place for sunbathing and beautiful sunsets.
That’s all from my side. I hope you enjoyed reading my post and hopefully I managed to share my feelings regarding Vama Veche. For me is the place where I feel alive.
Ana
I had never even heard of this place before, but it sounds awesome! Fresh seafood on the beach? Yes, please! And how fun to be able to listen to music and party on the beach before camping out there. If I ever make it to Romania, I’ll definitely have to check it out. Thanks for the info!
