Nusa Penida is a beautiful island known for its beaches and secluded places. Not to mention, Diamond Beach from Nusa Penida which is number one on Instagram. I will show you Nusa Penida, a day guide trip with beaches, natural pools and some amazing pictures.
Our trip to Nusa Penida was a real adventure. We took a boat from Sanur Beach to Nusa Lembongan and then to Ceningan Island. Maybe you’re wondering why Ceningan island? Well, as per my research is the best island to stay on, not so many tourists, amazing sunsets and it is much easier to visit Nusa Penida (40 minutes by boat).
At Nusa Lembongan, there isn’t an actual pier, so we had to walk into the water up to our thighs to get in on the boat.
We’ve booked our hotel on booking so we had no idea where is it or how to get there. We knew there will be someone waiting for us. Imagine our surprise, when we saw lots of tourists waiting for their rides, we didn’t know where is the hotel or who was waiting for us. I have to say, it was a bit of chaos especially when you’re in a foreign country with no one to ask. At some point, we heard the name of the hotel and we got in an old car similar to a jeep full of tourists and luggage. The road was a bumpy one, nothing to hold on to, drove through a forest. Arrived at the pickup place the owner came with a scooter supposed to ride us to the location. I mean, how can you carry us and our luggage with a scooter? It seems is possible on Cenningan island.
Ceningan island is a special place, not very visited probably because there aren’t cars, only scooters. There are lots of places to eat and hang out. On the beach, you can find swings decorated with lights welcoming you to sit. And the sunsets are amazing! Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to visit it but if you want more, check out this blogpost.
How about Nusa Penida?
It is a must on your visit to Bali and I highly recommend you to stay at least a day. We booked the trip at the hotel and the owner arranged everything.
Nusa Penida it’s like another world, with lots of palm trees, hidden caves, and beautiful beaches with stunning views. The road is horrible, bumpy, you need a car or if you’re experienced take a scooter.
So, what can you see on Nusa Penida? Here is my list of places to see in Nusa Penida, a day trip.
1 Angel’s Billabong Nusa Penida – it’s rocky, dangerous to swim but with an amazing view.
2 Broken Beach – it’s 10 minutes walk from Angel’s Billabong
I have to say, this is one of my favorites spots.
Tip: Go with a private driver and he can take pictures of you.
3 Tembeling Beach, Natural Pool and Forest
Omg, this was the most terrifying road but it worth it. A forest road on a motorbike. Scary like hell but I did it!
Tip: Take a taxi motorbike from the entrance (3 Dollars per ride), experienced scooter drivers and they will wait for you as long as you wish to stay. Plus, they can take pictures!
Can you imagine this natural pool, in the middle of the forest? The water is a bit cold and be careful, is very deep in the middle.
My travel partner
After a relaxing swim, head out to Tembeling beach. We walked barefoot on these hard rocks because we were all wet after swimming. It’s a very small beach, the waves are not very friendly so it’s not a good place for swimming. But, the view is great.
Love them!
Oh yes, I will stay here forever!
4 Diamond beach
How can I describe Diamond beach? Do you know how many pictures I saw with Diamond beach? Tons and I am amazed at the beauty of this beach. The view from above is just breathtaking.
The first rock looks like a diamond, hence the name of the beach.
The stunning Diamond beach My favorite desktop screensaver
To get down, you have stairs but at the finish line there are only rocks and you have to be very careful to not slip.
Still can’t belive it, I’m here:-)
The famous Diamond rock
