Elafonisos island from Greece, things to do

Here I am, driving from Romania to Elafonisos island. After 20 hours drive,  we are finally in Elafonisos.

Elafonisos is an island with 600 people in the South of Greece, 5 hours drive from Athens.

It’s known for its beaches especially Simos beach and the turquoise waters. So, what can you do in Elafonisos? Nothing much besides relaxing and enjoying the sun:-)

Here are my top 5 things to do in Elafonisos

Elafonisos island
Simos Beach

Simos Beach – it has it all, luxuriant vegetation, sand dunes, crystal water.

Elafonisos is a beautiful place perfect for a city break. If you’re looking to recharge your batteries by getting a great tan, eating fresh seafood, then you came to the right place.

In Elafonisos, there aren’t bars. Honestly, I love to go out in the evening to drink a great cocktail and dance so if you are like me, I recommend just to take the ferry and go on Simos Beach and leave in the evening.

Elafonisos it’s a vivid place, especially during the spring. Wild vegetation, flowers everywhere, and crystal water, Elafonisos it has it all.

  1. Elafonisos looks like the perfect place to visit for a day and to escape the crowds. Exploring the island on foot would be amazing with so many beautiful views. I agree that it’s too bad that there aren’t any bars on the island. A nice cold one would be perfect after a day of exploring!

  2. Elafonisos looks just stunning! It sounds like the perfect place to just relax and get away. Plus the fresh seafood, yum 😀 I’m planning to be in Athens for part of next summer (fingers crossed), so I’ll have to consider making a trip out there!
